Yes We Mustard
Hey friends! Am I sending you a newsletter at 6:49 am Saturday morning? Who knows….maybe this is just when I scheduled it. (It’s not. I keep weird hours).
Happy August! It’s been a pretty good month for me thus far, but that’s mostly because not much of August has elapsed. The best thing a month can be is new. I’m going hiking alone next week, and hopefully I’ll have some deep insights to share with you after that. Until then, a few updates.
I have 2 New Yorker pieces this month - Self-Care Conundrums and Questions New Parents Hate, Apparently. I also have a new McSweeney’s piece - The Worst They Can Say Is No. If you’d like to option any of these for stage & screen, let me know. My friend Alex & I also made this video about getting dumped…so much content.
Perhaps more exciting, it’s National Mustard Day, which means I can now officially announce my latest project - Yes We Mustard. To be fair, I’ve been unofficially announcing it for months, but whatever. It’s an Audible Original out Sept 2nd about a toxic mustard tech startup - a gripping satire, if I do say so myself. I wrote this during the early months of the pandemic while living in a kitchen-less sublet, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was my one bright spot. My editor Lara Kleinschmidt was the absolute best, and it was so fun to craft a narrative in such a strange world. I’ll be sharing more on how it came to be in later newsletters, so stay tuned.
Yes We Mustard stars a whole bunch of my favorite comedians, including Isabel Hagen, Hanna Dickinson, David Carl, Lauren Fortgang, Pallavi Gunalan, James Mwaura, Randall Otis, Stewart Fullerton, and Cam Poter. Variety wrote it up this week, and we’re all very excited (me and all of Variety, I assume). You can get a month of Audible free if you’re not a member. It’s about two hours long, so I don’t think it will take you over a month to get through, unless you’re an exceptionally slow listener (I don’t know your life!).
I hope you’re enjoying the last of hot vax summer which ended up not being quite as vaccinated as we’d all hoped, but was definitely hot.
Much love,
Ginny
